'We are what we pretend to be, so we must be careful what we pretend to be'. Writer, graphic artist, sculptor... KV has more strings than you can fit to a fiddle. Go read Slaughterhouse 5 and take it from there....

The Bokonon A-Z (well, actually, it's a B-Z)

In his classic novel Cat's Cradle, Vonnegut introduces us to the world of Bokonon. Here's a quick linked list of those key Bokonoist terms used.

Busy, busy, busy

whispered by Bokonists whenever they are thinking of how complicated and unpredictable the machinery of life really is

Boku-maru

the mingling of awareness

Duffle

the destiny of thousands upon thousands of persons when placed in the hands of a stuppa

Duprass

a karass composed of only two people

Foma

harmless untruths

Granfalloon

a false karass

Kan-kan

the instrument that brings people to their karass

Karass

teams that do God’s will without ever discovering what they are doing

Pol-pah

wrath of God or shit-storm

Sarooned

acquiesce to the seeming demands of your vin-dit

Sinookas

tendrils of you life

Sin-wat

a man who wants all of someone’s love

Stuppa

a fogbound child

Vin-dit

a sudden, very personal shove in the direction of Bokononism

Wampeter

the pivot of a karass; every karass having two, one waxing, one waning. (See Chapter 24, What a Wampeter Is for a full description)

Wrang-wrang

a person who steers people away from a line of speculation by reducing that line, with the example of the wrang-wrang’s own life, to an absurdity

Zah-mah-ki-bo

fate; inevitable destiny
